The Intensive Care Unit of Grand Hantha International Hospital is the largest amongst the private hospitals in Yangon with modern life-saving equipment that adheres to the highest international standards.
Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to patients who require intensive care and nursing along with respiratory support. Our ICU is staffed 24/7 with critical care specialists and experienced nurses (we have 12 nurse stations on-site) and medical staff who are committed to providing the highest level of care for our patients.
The units have all been cleaned and sanitized and are equipped with adjustable air pressure systems, state-of-the-art machines, and technology for special needs (such as for patients with heart issues, etc.) and also have a positive and negative pressure isolation room.

Facilities, Services and Treatments
- Total 24 beds equipped with Hill Rom CareAssist beds, Hill Rom Progressa beds which have facilities for weighing patient’s body weight and a digital head-end raised system to position patients and prevent aspiration, ranging from private single deluxe, deluxe special to royal suite units as well as shared units.
- High-end monitoring systems and high-end ventilators at each and every ICU bed
- Mechanical ventilators to assist patients with breathing. We can also ventilate patients with NIVs (noninvasive ventilators) and invasive ventilators using the latest ventilator models.
- Physiotherapy of chest and limb by our well-trained physiotherapists under the guidance of Physiatrists.
- Nutrition service
- For inpatients with enteral feeding, their daily energy requirement is calculated by our nutritionists and administered through a Ryles tube using a feeding pump and feeding bags. Parenteral nutrition is given for patients who cannot eat.
- Close monitoring of hemodynamic status with monitoring such as arterial and central venous catheter insertion.
- For acute renal impairment, hemodialysis can be done at ICU.
- 24-hour ICU consultant care is available with 1:1 nursing care given according to international guidelines and procedures.
- Emergency procedures like chest tube insertion for pneumothorax, pleural effusion, emergency intubation, and tracheostomy.
- ABG, Aerobic, and anaerobic blood culture services.
