Treatment Planning, Verification & Record System

We use VMS Eclipse TPS (Treatment Planning System), with the latest version algorithm for fast, accurate, optimized, safe and proven, computerized treatment planning, coupling with VMS ARIA V&R (Verification and Record) System to ensure the highest standards of assurance in giving the right dose to the right site at the right time to the right patient.

CT Simulation

Each patient is provided with individual customized immobilization devices: Thermoplastic Casts, Vac-lok cushions, Body strap, Headrest, Shoulder traction, Breast boards, Hip fix, Knee supports, Footrest and any other supporting as required, to assure the precision of radiation treatment delivery.

Our facility uses a State of the Art Digital Medical Electron Accelerator (LINAC), the Vital Beam of Varian Medical System (VMS), which has high-energy photons beams (6 MV and 10 MV) and electron beams (6,9,12,15 MeV).

<li>MV-KV Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) also utilizes CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)for portal imaging verification of precise treatment beam delivery to the target sites, while maintaining the lowest dose to the various organs-at-risks in the vicinities of the treatment volumes.</li>

Brachytherapy

Brachytherapy is also available in Grand Hantha International Hospital.

It is a kind of radiation therapy that is used to treat cancers. Different from the conventional form of radiation therapy (external beam radiation), Brachytherapy is the internal radiation that gives the radioactive source from inside of the body and delivers higher doses of radiation to more specific areas of the body to destroy the cancer cells and shrink the tumor size. Brachytherapy uses a higher total dose of radiation to treat a smaller area of cancer and to target a specific area. In certain types of cancers such as cervical cancer, endometrium cancer, vaginal cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer, Brachytherapy is needed give after the external beam therapy ( which directs radiation dose at a tumor from the outside of the body) to get the better result.

The advantages of Brachytherapy are

  • Shortened the overall treatment time,
  • Localized treatment to the small areas of tumor
  • Sparing the surrounding healthy tissues,
  • Minimum side effects and get an effective treatment outcome.
