Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a sleep related breathing disorder characterized by repeated airway obstruction during sleep. When a person with OSA falls asleep, muscles become relax that can cause complete or partial collapse of the upper airway. If left untreated, it is life threatening and can cause serious medical complications.
Gold standard test for OSA is sleep study also called polysomnography. Sleep Study Test can confirm the diagnosis of OSA which involves an overnight stay at a specialized sleep study center at our hospital. Sleep study can be completed at home with a portable sleep monitor might be an option.
